Perspective Changes Everything
One small shift turns “impossible” into “I’m possible”
The mind is one of our most powerful tools. Like the body, it needs exercise and training. Be intentional about what you feed it because what goes in will come out. You reap what you sow (Galatians 6:7).
One of my biggest pet peeves? Being told something isn’t possible. My answer is always the same: Challenge accepted. Then, with a smile, “Would you allow me the opportunity to prove you wrong?” (No one has ever said “no.”)
Life is a mind game.
Accept the “no” 👉🏼 Full stop 🛑
Refuse the “no” 👉🏼 Achieve the incredible, maybe even the impossible
Former Tennessee safety Inky Johnson dreamed of the NFL until a career-ending injury changed everything. But he didn’t see it as an ending. He saw opportunity. His story taught me that setbacks can be setups for something bigger.
So when you feel like giving up, try this:
They say, “Why?” → You say, “Why not?”
They say, “How?” → You say, “How can I change the world?”
They say, “What are you doing?” → You say, “What can I do better?”
They say, “When?” → You say, “When you expect change for the better, it will come.”
They say, “Where?” → You say, “Where do we start?”
The right perspective turns problems into possibilities and obstacles into opportunities.
In the wise words of my husband (and photographer for this post’s featured photo), “If you lose your train of thought, you can always buy another ticket!” Don’t let a roadblock create a full stop; find another route.
Instead of seeing a problem as a wall, see it as one direction you can’t go, compared to millions of directions you can. Time to forge a new path. Leave narrow-mindedness behind.
“If you CHANGE the way you look at things, the things you look at CHANGE.”
~ Dr. Wayne Dyer
