Don't Be Ish
Sometimes I am ish, which gives me the ick.
I find myself using this term more than I’d like.
It’s a self-trigger.
I feel the ick most when I add “ish” to something.
For example:
“Let’s connect at 11:30(ish)!”
Huh?
Are we meeting at 11:30, 11:35, noon… or not at all?
I’m not trying to be non-committal.
What I really mean: 11:30 is ideal, but connecting matters more than the exact time.
So why don’t I just say that?
To be unclear is unkind. Be kind to yourself and others.
Skip the ish. Stop the ick. Just show up.
